welcome to 2 Hearts Handmade! I’ve gone through a lot of names through the years: Dragon Pixels, Nymph’s Dolls, 2 Hearts Pixels and now 2 Hearts Handmade.

I decided this shall be an all for one site. My small business of handmade goods, my vent space, my pixel spot. If any of this sounds good to you, feel free to click around and explore!

Hi! So we’re gonna try and do a quick catch up! Here we go!

2020 wasn’t my year. March and April I was in the hospital after sepsis and a seizure kicked my ass onto a ventilator, took away my muscle strength and made me relearn basic functions without help at 34.

I applied for jobs, got next to no chance to do markets because I am now classified medically as “immunocompromised” so it wasn’t safe with Covid being a raging pain in the side.

No sales meant no real income. It bit. Then December 17th, the day AFTER my husband and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary, I had a seizure again. Another one I couldn’t pull myself out of. I also apparently set off the heart doc enough to think it may be my heart giving me a hard time. I had a echo sonogram type thing and it came back normal. Now, I’m wearing a heart monitor til the end of this month, Jan 2021.

I haven’t had time to pixel, I’m joining my business with my best friends (two different shops but where one of us can sell for both and keep track of finances) and if I can’t do an order, she can.

My vocabulary is more limited now, as I can’t always vocalize what I need to say, thankfully that doesn’t seem to extend to my typing.

I am coming back to pixels, slowly and I’m still working on my handmade business. Everything in the pixel shop is still here. Go ahead and order.

Just a quick general update of what’s going on and what is upcoming.

First, I’ve not forgotten about the members area, I simply haven’t pixeled in a bit becuase getting on the computer wasn’t appealing. I wanted to spend time offline, take a break from the politcal ads and bullshit. In the process. I seem to have disconnected from quite a lot of you and I’m sorry.

I am aware I’m behind on tags, I’ll get to them soon. I am so sorry. Somedays it’s just not worth the headache to be on here though.

Second, my handmade shop has been joined with another that belongs to my “wifey”, my friend and co-conspirator on all things yarn. There will be a page for that soon.

Third, my birthday is coming up. It’s right after US elections. Understandably, I’m still trying to stay away from the ads cause holy crap do they play a lot and I’m tired of politicians that lie out of their ass. So I’m hiding. You’ll likely see fall tags and pixels.

Be safe, I am still here and reachable by email.

So, let’s go over real life really quick. Because holy crap has it gotten busy. Family health problems, shop order and oh, yes. my own health and my husband’s immigration card stuff.

I won’t post the family issues. My health is wonky, I keep having dizzy spells (not regularly enough to time) but annoying enough. I have been tracking them with my doctor. The shop order is frustrating because it’s taken forever with my body being a jerk, but it is almost done and I can show you all.

But USCIS> Oh yes. they’re the bane of my existence. On the recommednation of their agent, I sent Hubby’s paperwork off a few days early to accomdate for any mail delays. Funny enough, that’s the one time there wasn’t a delay! It got to USCIS offices a DAY EARLY. They held it 2 weeks, then sent it back.

Yep. I had to spend money on shipping-AGAIN!- to send it off. I’m just glad we didn’t have to come up with $680 for money orders again.

I’ve about had enough with all of this. 2020 was meant to be a good year and instead we have this mess of things. Ugh. I’m going off to work on halloween pixels

Happy Pride! (0) Comments

Happy Pride! I know I’m half way into the month, but I have been busy supporting friends at the BLM protests and trying to get a job at our local drag bar. Fingers crossed!

So, not that I hide it well, but I am pansexual ( not limited in sexual choice with regard to biological sex, gender, or gender identity. ) and polyamorous (I have more than one partner).

First, me being pansexual hasn’t ever been a thing nobody knew. I don’t give a flying one what you are: Girl, trans, boy, somewhere in between, non binary, genderfluid.. If I have an emotional connection to you, it’s very likely I will be attracted to you. However, part of that is respecting bounds. Yes, I’ve dated both men and women and one ex girlfriend has now found herself identifying as non binary. I love seeing them shine.

As for polyamorous: I do have two partners. And before this gets asked- yes, they both know about each other as I found my second partner AFTER marrying Kiwi. 3 long conversations, and them actually getting along made it easier. No, it’s not cheating. Polyam relationships work the same as monogamous- you best trust and have open communication.

Now, onto a fun thing I made for Pride and some of the tags I made my partners and I.

I made Pride flags as hearts for you to use in tags or decorate your own site. If you’d like to use them, you’ll have to click the graphic below.

And because I’m not assumed of my poly relationship, these are tags I’ve made for both my partners. 🙂 More information on both of them can be found in my about me / loves.

One of my dearest friends, who loves me even when I’m being a complete pain in her side, was married to her soulmate today. Her journey hasn’t been an easy one in life, but she’s always overcome and shown amazing strength and grace even during her roughtest time. Mom to 4 awesome kiddos (2 sweet, brilliant girls and 2 sweet, brilliant little boys.) she is a force to be reckoned with.

Lauren is who performed my wedding to Mark, never doubted I’d marry that boy I was so determined to be with. She also listened (And still does) listen to me rant when things just feel like they’re stacking on top of me. It’s rare she loses her temper- at least to the outside world, but she is every bit the mama bear, protective wife, loving friend, everyone should have.

I haven’t gotten to meet her husband yet- everytime I think Mark and I might have free time- Lauren and her little ones or her hubby haven’t had free time. Schedules here don’t like to match up. But, I have 0 doubt in his commitment to her or the kids he’s lovingly taken to. I have a feeling he seems himself a lot like my Dad Rick, not a step parent, but the parent who stepped up.

I can’t wait to see the life they build together and wish them all the blessings in the world.

Yes, I know I went poof. I’m sorry. I do have a good reason.

March 17th, I had 2 seizures back to back and never came out of them. I went into acute respiratory failure at the hospital and they put me on a ventilator, which I apparently didn’t want to work with, so they put me into a medically induced coma.

I woke up April 6th in the ICU of my local hospital. They took the ventilator out and I slowly begin to go from baby food/applesauce and ice chips, back to solid food. I was moved to my own room and the real therapy began.

My left arm ended up underneath me somehow, either when the hospital moved me around to keep me from getting bed sores OR when I had my seizures at home (No blame, it’s not a permanent injury) but it’s currently not able to be fully stretched out at the elbow. I am however, able to take a shower, eat and get dressed unassisted.

The other issue? Being bedridden for a month, pissed off my heart and legs. My legs forgot how to hold me up steadily and how to walk. So while at the hospital they taught me to use a walker which I came home with. Here at home, I’m able to walk without the walker and I’m moving around on my own.

But what about my heart? Well, it’s not used to me moving, so my blood pressure is fluctuating. I’m taking blood pressure meds to control it, which hopefully I will not be on for long as my heart adjusts to me being active again.

The members area is now being taken care of again, and I am going to attempt to still do small updates. We’ll see how it goes, But now you know why I’ve been quiet. Thank you for your patience.

Sorry, don’t get too excited, it’s not the pixel shop.

I’ve now added larger stuffed animals. This is from the book “Huggable Amigurumi” and it can be found here.

I’m super proud of how this little Pengy came out! (Click the image to go to the full size image).
